This
bungalow in Groomsport, close to the sea in Northern ireland. The original
house had a traditional layout of separate kitchen / dining / living space and
poor quality dormner window to the first floor master bedroom. Our client
wished to update the property with a contemporary layout, and provide long term
accessible living accommodation. Our proposal was to reconfigure the existiong
licing area end of the house, connect rooms together and extend the rear to
provide a contemporary living K/L/D space with views onto thir garden. The roof
dormer was replaced, and roof better insulated with a larger contemporary box,
enclosing the master bedroom and en suite.
The
rear of the property now serves as a contemporary living space with external
dining terrace and large opening windows to enjoy the morning sun. Due to the
K/L/D space being multi directional, it benefits from evening sunshine through
the generous front façade windows.
